Snowflake was the first Toller to win our hearts. She was a quiet (very unToller-like), gentle sole and yet had the energy of ten when she was having fun.

Shown in conformation, she came away with honours such as Winners Female, Best Of Opposite, Best of Winners & Best Of Breed, as well as, a Group 4th placing, before receiving her Canadian Championship.  She earned her Canine Good Neighbour title only a month before her death, despite the fact that she was almost deaf and we worked strictly with hand signals.

But more than all that, she was the first dog to win my husband's heart, a best friend to our three growing children, and the dog that brought many changes to our lives - from drawing us into the world of pure-bred dog events/training, breeding, multiple dog ownership - to the comforts of rural acreage life.

Snowflake loved dog shows.  Her last show was the 2007 Canadian Toller Specialty.  We only entered her in the Parade of Veterans and Parade of Titleholders, but when she was given that big beautiful green rosette, she smiled like she had won the whole show.  We are thankful that we got the chance to give her one more big show thrill and then take her to the lake for a week of playing in the water and chasing ducks.

We will miss her forever, treasure her time with us always, be thankful for the beautiful offspring and their offspring that she gave to us, and feel blessed that it was our family that was chosen to be her family while she was in this world.

Thank you Snowflake for everything.  Rest easy and  know we love you.

Turbo came to us from Simone and Steve Cody at Elvebredd Kennels.  We thank them for entrusting this wonderful boy into our care for almost 14 years.  Turbo was everything we were looking for in our second Toller - energy, drive, sweetness, total devotion, and the need to please.  He hated to disappoint us and so took training very seriously.  Turbo helped me get involved in competitive obedience (our first CD) and he was our oldest daughter's agility partner for years.  They had such fun together.  He was long retired from agility but at 13 1/2 years old, I got out the agility equipment and he instantly became a puppy again. Turbo LOVED agility!

He spent his senior years running on our acreage, sleeping in front of the fireplace and enjoying the freedom of just being a farm dog.  He did his perimeter check every morning and evening, to ensure that all was well on the property, and he was always up for a long walk in the pasture or for a game of frisbee or soccer.  He was a grand old man and was the best dog for our kids to grow up with.  He was Snowflake's best friend and he missed her dreadfully when she left us, much too early.  We know that Snowflake is waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge and the two of them will once again enjoy a good run together.

We love you and miss you dreadfully, TurboMan!  Rest in peace sweet boy!
