About Us

Our love for Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers began in 1995 when we began our search for the best family pet for our active household. We have been deeply involved with the breed ever since.

At Torlan Tollers, we are breeding for the all round versatile Duck Toller. Our dogs are foremost family pets and loving companions and so we know the importance of a family pet that is healthy and happy. Though many of our dogs have competed and titled in many different disciplines, our main focus remains on health and temperament, and the betterment of the breed.  Versatility Inspired.

As Tollers are a high energy dog, we look for homes that will be able to meet the needs of this breed through exercise, training and socialization. It takes commitment to develop that perfect canine companion. We carefully interview and choose the right homes for each of our puppies.

For that reason, litters that come from our kennel are carefully planned, cared for and socialized, in hopes of turning out Tollers that the Toller community can be proud of. Litters are occasional.

We live the acreage life, and the dogs share their domain with three cats and other assorted farm animals. Our Tollers are family pets and live in the house with us.

All breeding stock is OFA hip & elbow certified, DNA tested for all genetic markers, CAER eye cleared, OFA heart checked, thyroid tested, as well as patellas and dentition cleared.

We remain available to all of our owners for the life of their dog, to provide assistance on any/all aspects of owning a Torlan Toller - diet, health care, behavioral/training problems.

We are members in good standing with the following dog organizations:

Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club of Canada
